Hello mama! Thank you for checking out my blog. You're here to learn about me and what I have to offer? Let's dive in.

about me

My name is Serena - a psychology-obsessed bookworm, and new mom

I live with my partner and baby boy in Ontario, Canada. Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to study psychology at university and pursue some sort of job in the field. What I didn't expect was the desire to have a baby as soon as I finished my undergrad. One year after graduation, pop came the baby!

I love helping people and making them feel understood because who doesn't want to be heard?

This is why I want to become a clinical psychologist. But being a clinical psychologist also means being a research scientist. So, as a research assistant, I joined any lab that I could find - most of which studied youth mental health.

While on maternity and parental leave (up to 18 months together here in Canada) I found that I'm enjoying not going to work every day. One problem... the cost of living here is so high so I have to make income somehow, right? I wonder if any of you felt the same?

I did some problem-solving and decided to combine my love of psychological research, motherhood, reading, and writing, ergo this blog!

I've learned so much about motherhood and want to share the knowledge I've gained with new moms like me who want to have their questions answered. Before I pursue further education, I would like to achieve my goal of earning income and being a stay-at-home. More importantly, I want to carry out my passion, which is to help others. One day, I will perhaps be a clinical psychologist and entrepreneur. We'll see!

I'm still new at this whole mom thing but through this blog, I strive to share what I know with you as I go through the beautiful journey of motherhood. I imagine many of you can relate to me.

If you just found out that you're pregnant and stuck on where to start, I highly recommend you download my FREE baby prep checklist.

about me

Now let's talk about YOU, mama

With this blog, I plan on creating freebies, ebooks, and printables and offering courses that will help you feel empowered and confident as a mother.

From my psychology background and knowledge of children and youth research, I strive to educate and help you become your little one's coach.

You'll learn to recognize your child's developmental milestones and what kind of support they'll need at any given time. I'll also throw in pieces of content that will focus on you, mama - including fun productivity and homemaking tips (no - I'm not religious) for those who feel stuck and disorganized.

Of course, I'll be looking out for your feedback and what you're interested in so it's almost guaranteed that I'll adapt my content.

Let's see if this sounds like you...

  • You're a mom who works full-time and trying to figure out how to manage your household and take care of yourself.
  • You just had a baby or you're preparing for your baby's arrival and have no idea what to expect regarding their physical and emotional development.
  • You don't know any other moms and need a safe space to share your struggles and relate to other moms like you.
  • You want to be your child's emotional coach and recognize when they need support and how to support them.
  • You want to quit your job and/or be a stay-at-home mom but still earn an income.

If any of these are familiar, you've found the perfect place. Let's be pals shall we? I'm more than happy to help.

Before you leave, I'd love for you to sign up for my email list to join a community of moms like us!

Now that we're pals, I'd love to connect on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook! I'll be making a Facebook group soon for the community which I'll announce in one of my weekly emails!
